Our History

For over 50 years, the experienced medical professionals and capable staff at Suffolk Heart Group have been committed to the health and well-being of the residents of western Suffolk County. Doctor David Farr founded the original office in Smithtown in 1969. Within a few years, the Suffolk Heart Group team grew as the demand increased for quality heart care and health. The team responded to the call to serve the growing population across Long Island in western Suffolk County during the 1970s and 80s, from the north shore to the south shore. Suffolk Heart Group has proudly provided wellness, preventative services, and the latest in state-of-the-art heart care to tens of thousands of Long Islanders for over half a century. The doctors of Suffolk Heart Group have always maintained an affiliation with St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, the world-renowned and leading heart hospital on Long Island. In 2020, Suffolk Heart Group reaffirmed its relationship with St. Francis Hospital when it joined Catholic Health of Long Island.
